Library Policies

COVID-19 Notice:

Although Plough Library participates in shared borrowing agreements with academic libraries in the MALC and TALC groups, the ability of CBU students and faculty to check out books from those libraries depends on whether a library has reopened to the public at large.

It is best to assume that local academic libraries are limiting entry to their own faculty, staff, and enrolled students until further notice.

If you need a book that is not available in Plough Library's collection, place a request with Interlibrary Loan. Do not assume that you can enter other local academic libraries.

Local Libraries

CBU students, faculty, and staff may borrow books from select local academic libraries with whom we have consortial borrowing agreements as part of Plough Library's membership in Memphis Area Library Council (MALC).

How it works:

  • Use WorldCat Discovery to find books in area libraries.
  • Present your CBU identification card when you visit these libraries.
  • Most libraries will require you to fill out a form, and they will issue you a temporary library card for their library.
  • When borrowing from other libraries, you are subject to their policies.
