Library Policies

Plough Library seeks to maintain an atmosphere conducive to reading, studying, and other academic pursuits. Any behavior that impinges on the rights of another is unacceptable. The library is also responsible for maintaining the collection and materials in the library. To help us in our efforts we ask that library users follow the guidelines below:

Food & Drink Policy

We ask that no food be consumed in the library. Covered drinks are allowed. Please use extra caution drinking around library materials and computers. All trash must be disposed of in the appropriate receptacles. Staff should be alerted to any spills.

Noise Policy

• Playing any audio without using headphones
• Playing audio with headphones at a level that can be heard by others
• Playing musical instruments
• Creating a disturbance
• Damaging or vandalizing library property in any way
• Removing library property without authorization
• Smoking or vaping inside the library
• Drinking alcohol inside the library
• Throwing items inside the library
• Climbing on or otherwise using library furniture in unintended ways

Patrons not following the behavior guidelines of the library may be asked to leave. The library staff reserves the right to call campus safety to remove individuals.
