Interlibrary Loan is a collaborative service among libraries that enables individual libraries to borrow materials, un-owned by them, on behalf of their users. Each library makes the decision as to what is loaned and how long it is kept out. While a renewal may be requested in advance of a due date, there is no guarantee the request will be granted, and there are no exceptions for anyone -- students or faculty -- when it comes to honoring said date.
A student or faculty member who receives an interlibrary loan is bound by the rules of the lending libraries, which Plough Library enforces on their behalf.
The cooperation of borrowers determines whether other libraries continue to loan to CBU.
