Use RefWorks to organize your research & generate citations

It is easy to create citations in RefWorks to copy to your document, but it is even easier to add them while working in your document using a RefWorks add-on. In addition, the add-ons enable you to edit or delete citations.

Write-n-Cite (for older versions of Word)

Compatible with MS Word 2016 and earlier, Write-n-Cite is a utility that allows you to run an abbreviated version of RefWorks in Microsoft Word. You can access your references by folder (or sub-folder), by quick search, or by all references with the ability to sort by author, title or year.

With Write-n-Cite, you can cite references in a paper with just a click and watch your paper format instantly, including in-text citations, footnotes, and your bibliography. The utility installs a RefWorks tab in the MS Word toolbar or you can access it from the References tab in Microsoft Word.

RefWorks Citation Manager (for newer versions of Word)

RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) is an add-on for Microsoft Word 2016 and later that enables you to run a simplified version of RefWorks inside Word. RCM is a newer, more modern version of Write-n-Cite.

RCM is available through the Microsoft Store and can be installed directly from Microsoft Word. By default, Office automatically updates RCM whenever a new version becomes available.

RefWorks for Google Docs

RefWorks for Google Docs is an add-on for that enables you to run a simplified version of RefWorks inside of Google Docs. The RefWorks for Google Docs Add-on can be found by clicking "Get Add-on" in your Google Doc.
